Pick high-variance cases when behind
If you are a big underdog (e.g. against a veteran with deep pockets), pick cases with extreme outcomes — a handful of high-value jackpots and lots of low rolls. This gives you a real shot at a flip via a single big hit.
Pick low-variance cases when ahead
If you have the bankroll edge, pick tight cases where most rolls cluster around the mean. This reduces the chance of a big swing against you.
